About the Artist

I want my paintings to capture my love of aircraft, trains, and landscapes in vibrant, dynamic, and realistic detail. I want you to feel the grace and speed of an airplane in flight and the power of a locomotive pounding up a grade.  My landscapes and architectural works are typically of rustic themes, and evoke a simpler time.

All works are in acrylic unless otherwise noted.

I have been fascinated with aircraft and trains my entire life. I am the newsletter editor for the Pacific Coast Air Museum, a model railroader, and a history buff.

In addition to the originals displayed here, I create paintings on commission, such as your personal airplane, a favorite boat, ship, or train, or your beloved hot rod. Working from descriptions and related photos I can even resurrect historical scenes that were never captured on film (such as my painting “Hit My Smoke), or create new scenes from your imagination.

My wife and I live in Sonoma County, California. If I weren’t so busy painting airplanes and trains, I’d be out painting the many local wineries and vineyards. I have a bachelor’s degree in history, and a bachelor’s degree in German. For most of my professional career I have been a marketing writer, consultant, and project manager. As an artist I am primarily self-taught, though I did take a few drawing classes at the local junior college which provided an excellent foundation.
