Done over the course of two evenings, this drawing resides in one of my sketchbooks. This is the interior of the Recreation Hall at the Elwell Lakes Lodge near Graeagle, California. The Recreation Hall was built in 1920 and is furnished with a wonderful collection of antique chairs, tables and lamps. The huge stone fireplace is often lit on cool evenings. Overall it’s about the best mountain retreat imaginable and is a feast for anyone with an artistic eye.
